Operations Team Roles

Human Resource - People & Culture Lead

If you are seasoned HR professional interested in volunteering your time to help us develop our recruitment and onboarding processes, we would love to hear from you!

This could be a short term engagement to set us up - or a long term engagement to help us grow our people & culture offering. The role will include finessing our Seek and also our in-house admin system recruitment, our orientation process, matching this to position descriptions and ensuring we have processes in place to retain quality volunteers.

To apply and receive a copy of the Position Description, email recruitment@arvolunteers.org.

Program Administration Roles

Due to COVID-19, our programs are not currently running and we have therefore halted our recruitment for the below roles. However, if you are interested in one of the below roles, please get in touch with us at recruitment@arvolunteers.org to register your interest and we will be in touch when recruitment resumes.

Kids Program Team - Client Manager

  • As a part of the kids program admin team, your main responsibility will be as a point of contact for our clients (families from refugee backgrounds).  You will establish relationships with the families, co-ordinate their attendance at our programs, and be the main point of contact for issues, as well as goal setting and ensuring general satisfaction and enjoyment of our clients.

  • You will work with the program manager, and the volunteer manager to ensure smooth running of our monthly program days.

  • You will need to make phone calls to clients in-between program days to co-ordinate their attendance.

  • On the program day you would ensure they are engaged and flag any issues with the program manager.

  • You will need to complete debriefs in our online administration system, and ensure client details are up to date.

  • Time Commitment = 1 x Program Day a month (Sat), 1 x Admin Day a month (Sun), approx 6 hours of phone calls and team Skype meetings per month.   In total approx commitment is 3 to 4 days per month.

Teens Program Team - Event Manager

  • You will be part of the Teens admin team (clients aged 13-18), and your main responsibility will be planing the activities for each monthly program. Teens programs try to incorporate a developmental activity, as well as a recreational activity, so if you have a passion for young people and want to help them be the best version of themselves possible, then we'd love to hear from you!

Teens Program Team - Volunteer Manager

  • Volunteer managers are required to ensure we have enough general program volunteers to support the teens program each month, support volunteers on the program day, and follow up with phone calls to ensure volunteers are well supported.

  • You will work with other programs to shift and co-ordinate volunteers to match the number of clients.  Then you will create a volunteer schedule for the program day, and you will co-ordinate and be a central point of contact for volunteers.

  • There will be some administrative duties like follow up phone calls with volunteers to survey and gain feedback, update the database of volunteer details, and co-ordinate with training teams to ensure volunteers have all of their training needs met.

  • Time Commitment = 1 x Program Day a month (Sat), 1 x Admin Day a month (Sun), approx 6 hours of phone calls and team Skype meetings per month.   In total approx commitment is 3 to 4 days per month.

Our planning for camps operate on a longer leader time than our monthly programs, so recruitment for camps are still happening! Please email president@arvolunteers.org to apply.

ARV Camps

  • Various Roles Available: Client, Volunteer & Event Managers: you will be part of the core team planning and delivering our extremely rewarding school holiday camps!

  • Depending on what role you take on, your focus will either be volunteer or client wellbeing, or organising the activities/events that our clients and volunteers participate in. Our President, Sam, has run a number of camps and will be there to assist you along the way.

  • Time Commitment = our camps only run once or twice per year, but as they require a lot of preparation upfront, you will need to be available for a minimum of 2 months in the lead up to the camp to assist with planning. You will also need to be able to attend the 5 days of the camp (Mon-Fri).

  • The planning phase for our next camp will commence in October 2020.

  • Email president@arvolunteers.org to register your interest.
