Sam Murphy

Q: How long have you been volunteering at ARV?

A: 5 years (almost!) 18 months as Secretary and 3 years as President.

Q: Describe your experience at ARV

A:  In one word, it has been fantastic!

Q: What made you choose ARV?

A:  It fit my schedule, and it was focused entirely on delivering programs rather than on activism.

Q: Describe your favourite activity with ARV so far

A: That’s a very hard question to answer, but the first thing that popped into my head was visiting Pocket City Farms and seeing the kids take an interest in food production and the environment.  A close second place is ARV’s holiday camps.

Q: What is something you like to do separate from ARV?

A: Recently I’ve taken up baking (yes, I’m one of those people obsessed with sourdough 🤷‍️).  I love the experimentation it allows.  I also love gardening on my little balcony!

Q: Would you recommend ARV to other volunteers?

A:  Always, always, always!

Q: If you could change one thing in the world what would it be?

A: Make elections publicly funded.
