Notice of Annual General Meeting 2019

 

This is to advise you of the upcoming Annual General Meeting (AGM) for Australian Refugee Volunteers Inc (ARV), which will be held at 12.15pm on Sunday, 29 September 2019 at STARTTS at Carramar, 152–168 The Horsley Drive, Carramar NSW, followed by lunch!

What happens:

 

At the meeting, members will have the opportunity to:

• find out about ARV's operations and finances

• ask questions about the operations and finances of ARV

• speak about any items on the agenda

• vote on any resolutions proposed

 

At the meeting, members will be asked to vote to:

• accept the minutes of the last AGM

• accept the annual report, including the President’s Report, the Vice President’s Report, and the Treasurer’s Report

• accept the annual financial statements

• elect committee members

• accept the proposed new ARV Constitution (special resolution)

 

Committee positions: Nominations for committee positions must be submitted by Sunday, 22 September 2019. All committee positions are available for nomination (if there are multiple nominations, we'll hold a vote). In particular, we are calling for nominations for the role of Treasurer and Vice President.

Proxy votes: If you can't attend you can vote by proxy. Proxy forms must be submitted by 12pm on Saturday, 28 September 2019 (note that noone can hold more than one proxy).

 

RSVP: All members are invited to attend the AGM. If you do not ordinarily attend ARV admin days but would like to attend the AGM, please RSVP to secretary@arvolunteers.org by 22 September 2019 for more information and so we have an idea of expected numbers.
