Australian Refugees Volunteers
Australia Refugee Volunteers (ARV) is a volunteer-run not-for-profit organisation based in Sydney, Australia. The main objective of ARV is to improve the lives of children and families from asylum seeker and refugee backgrounds. ARV programs provide essential recreational and developmental opportunities for children, families and adults which ease loneliness and isolation and improve physical and mental health.
Want to support our work but don't have the time?
As a not-for-profit NGO, Australian Refugee Volunteers relies heavily on generous donations and grants to keep us going and put smiles on our kids faces.
Help us do
ARV runs monthly excursions for children and teens from a refugee or asylum seeker background, living in Sydney. Our excursions are a mix of fun and developmental activities that give our clients skills and confidence whilst allowing them to just be kids for the day!
Volunteers collect children, bring them together as a program group for the activity, and then drop them home at the end of the day.
Australian Refugee Volunteers is committed to working with everyone. Our kids health and happiness comes first and foremost. We're not here to change the world, just theirs.
ARV is run entirely by volunteers - From the one creating and updating this website, all the way up to our committee and president, no one gets paid a cent and our volunteers' selfless generosity inspires us every day! We look forward to having you join us and become another Australian Refugee Volunteer!
