At ARV we welcome energetic, committed volunteers who have a genuine passion for helping others!
We are always looking for volunteers to actively work with children as well as those who like to work behind the scenes - in recruitment and training, administration, grants and fund raising, volunteer management and activity planning.
Volunteering
Our general program volunteers commit to attend our monthly program days - that's just one day a month, where we take children out to participate in fun activities. Read about our programs here.
Volunteers collect children from their homes, take them to the activity location where we all come together as a group and enjoy the day, and then we drop the children back at their homes.

We are most keen for volunteers who can assist with driving and picking up the children, engaging with them during the day and dropping them home at the end of the day. We find this gives the best outcome for building trust and friendship with the children. We do also have a few roles for non drivers.
Alternatively if you are interested in opportunities to volunteer behind the scenes - in recruitment and training, administration, grant writing, volunteer management and activity planning - read more on volunteering behind the scenes .

Volunteering Behind the Scenes
Getting involved in the administration side of Australian Refugee Volunteers is a great way to get an understanding of the behind the scenes workings of an NGO and an excellent way to add valuable experience and skills to your resume.
For general expressions of interest, you may be interested to join one of the program management teams or become part of one of the following operations teams:
-

Joining the administration side of Australian Refugee Volunteers requires a high level of commitment and understanding of the organisation and its aims. Therefore most administrative volunteers also need to attend some program days.
We require administration team members to commit to 12 months of volunteering.
Management or not-for-profit experience is desirable, although we welcome people with all sorts of backgrounds and experience levels as long as you are dedicated and willing to learn!
