Our first event of 2026 was a special one, with four new children joining us for the day and plenty of fresh faces all around. For almost all of the kids, it was their first time visiting Taronga Zoo, and for many it was also their first time catching the ferry, making it a day full of exciting firsts from start to finish.
There was lots of enthusiasm as everyone took in the views of Sydney Harbour, explored the zoo and spotted some of the animals they had only seen in books or on screens before. Giraffes and tigers were definite highlights, and it was lovely to see the excitement grow as the day went on.

It was not just a day of firsts for the children either, with several volunteers also joining us for their first event. The mix of new faces, shared experiences and excitement made for such a lovely atmosphere and a great way to start the year together.
All in all, it was a fun and memorable day out, and a wonderful way to welcome new children and volunteers into the year ahead.
A big thanks to the people at Macquarie Bank who made this day possible. We are so grateful for your generous support.
